Hello, friends! My name is Caiti, and I'm a twenty-something girl living in a cute little condo in a cute little town just outside of Chicago with my husband and psycho kitty (although we're currently living abroad in Ireland for a few months). On the Life is a Canvas blog, I explore all the ways that we can celebrate creativity in our daily lives -- not only through artistic pursuits like art, graphic design, crafting and writing, but also by infusing creativity into everyday activities like cooking, interacting with friends, our jobs, where we choose to shop, and the way we present ourselves to the world. I am committed to the notion that we are the artists for our lives, and I know that I want to create a life full of color, vibrancy, passion, exploration, and authenticity.
I started this blog back when I had hit a bit of a rut in my professional life--basically, I learned that I wither under artificial lights and was in need of some serious non-computer creative time. This blog began as a way for me to get back in touch with my creative side as I floundered my way through my quarter-life crisis and job woes.... And then I got laid off.
With all my sudden free time, I was forced to face some big questions. Why am I not taking charge to create the life I dream of? What do I really want? What's stopping me from calling myself an artist or a designer?
