Many of you know that I love art journaling, and I may have even connected with a handful of you through Elsie and Rachel's "Tell Your Story" e-course in 2010. Despite good intentions, I have fallen out of practice with journaling in the past year for reasons ranging from a lack of space to spread out my supplies to not knowing what to journal about. Both of these reasons seem more like excuses, honestly, and are hardly enough to avoid a fun, creative activity.
In order to get back into the swing of creating regularly, I've decided to start an art journaling series called Art from the Heart. How it works: Twice a month, I will offer up a thoughtful, postitive journal prompt. There will be two weeks to create a page based on the prompt, and then I will share my creation, along with tips and techniques that I've used.
I invite all of you participate as well! If you send me photos of your responses to the prompts, I'd love to showcase in a gallery-style post along with my journal page. Even if you aren't an art journaler, I'd love for you to join in-- I think many prompts could be used by scrapbookers, photographers, artists, Instagrammers, digital collagers, even Project Lifers! I might end up using Mr. Linky/linkshare or a Flickr group if I get feedback that people would prefer to post their work on their own blogs, but for now, I'm going to start with asking you to email me photos of your pages {CaitididDesigns [at] gmail [dot] com}. I hope some {or lots!} of you will participate-- I think it's a great way to try something new and to see how a prompt can be interpreted by different people!
Prompt #2 and a showcase of any contributions I receive will be posted on Monday, January 30th. Happy creating!

This sounds like lots of fun. I've been art journaling more than making anything else lately.
