As a compulsive list maker, I decided I wanted to document some of my favorite lists on the blog, particularly those that would bring a smile to my face on those less-than-sunshiny days.
List 01 // Simple Pleasures
01. The smell of the air right before it rains.
02. Fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies.
03. Downloading new fonts.
04. Slices of lemon in my water.
05. The stillness of the world when I wake up early.
06. Stove-top popcorn.
07. The smell of fresh-cut grass.
08. Lazy Sundays.
09. Cuddling during thunderstorms.
What simple thing is bringing you pleasure lately?
What a lovely list! I'm loving perfectly ripe peaches, fresh organic cotton sheets, the early morning sun peeking through the trees as I walk my dog, raw honey on multigrain toast, local tomatoes, framed vintage postcards on my desk, and new (to me) music.
ReplyDeletei think we'd be great friends... absolutely all of these are on my list too! i'm also in love with reading on a rainy afternoon, poached eggs on anything (with smoked sea salt & paprika!), waking up in the early, early morning and realizing you get to fall back asleep for three hours before your alarm starts to buzz, doing pigeon pose for five minutes per side while watching great sunday night tv on hbo.
ReplyDelete#5 is my favorite, without a doubt. I think getting up early is the hardest thing in the world, but the stillness and peacefulness you get that makes it feel like the world is your own is worth it big time.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to add taking walks in the fall with cinnamon flavored coffee, and being snowed in with hot chocolate and good movies. :)
