Birthday, Perfect Day For a Daydream (And a Giveaway!)

It's my birthday today! *Happy dance!* I plan on sharing my intentions for my 28th year next week, since that seems much too serious a task for today. For now, I'm indulging in a fantasy of my perfect day... You can never be too old for a bit of daydreaming :)

{Be sure to scroll down to the end of the post to check out my first giveaway!}

In my world, a perfect birthday should include...

A morning full of cuddle time the hubs, with no alarms or work to worry about.

A carb-laden breakfast of delicious pasteries and chai
(which are both magically calorie-free).

Scouring my favorite thrift stores with my BFF
(who would be the lovely Zooey Deschanel, of course).

Doing some dreaming and sketching at a cafe.

Indulging in a fresh baked pan of brownies.
(Because Brownies > Cake.)

My husband surprising me with a sweet face like this.

Or this.

Or this! Followed by a non-stop snugglefest, naturally.

For dinner we'd have some delicious sushi.

We'd build a magic fort in the living room with mountains of pillows...

Make some hot chocolate, with extra marshmallows...

And watch movies long into the night
(which would--fantasy or not-- most likely be Disney flicks).

Perfect.

This print, titled Home Sweet Home Vol.2, is 8x10" and printed on wood veneer paper. It's such a cute print... I have several other prints from RosieMusic and I love them SO much.

  3. Hooray for your birthday :) Hope it's extra special sweet. I love your photo list of birthday perfection. This is a new(er) perfect day idea for me: spending daytime hours out in my city with my cameras. Nothing else on the agenda except to take photos of what might otherwise slip by my glance. A vintage/thrift store sighting along the route would move it from perfect day to magical day :) Enjoy yours!

  7. Happy b-day. My perfect day would consist of sleeping in while my husband took care of our 6 month old, then a nice lunch out, while the baby sleeps, followed by a trip to a museum or kid-friendly attraction to with our daughter. And, to top it off, I would love a nice quiet dinner and the baby sleeping through the night.

A girl can only dream, right?

  9. Hi Caitie,

I'm so happy to have found your blog. Happiest of Happy Birthdays.

As I continued to read this post, I kept wondering if you'd be able to top what you had just mentioned...and every time, I was thinking, 'oh man, that's awesome!!!!!!'. Sounds like the perfect birthday to me.

A perfect day for me would include:
-reading a book snuggled up in my pj's inbed, maybe with a hot cup of tea
    - journaling and taking pictures
-going on a nice long run outdoors
    -loving my family and friends.

Right now, I crave these things.

Can't wait to come back and read more. So happy to have found you! :)

  11. Happy Birthday, Caiti! 28 is gonna be a good one! My perfect day would be a Corona commercial, minus the Corona and insert fruit smoothie.

  12. Happy Birthday Caiti! Ok, my perfect day... It would start out with a lazy cup of tea with my mister and then a stroll across the street for a bikini clad warm water surf session. From there we'd be off to a late brunch, followed by an afternoon of thrifting and then off to our fav Mexican joint to have quac and 'ritas with good friends. The day ends with snuggles on the couch with our fur baby, feeling tan and salty, and of course this would be a Saturday, which means we get to wake up and repeat tomorrow. ;)

  14. Hey fellow Aquarian. My birthday was last Thursday. I think your dream day sounds perfect. I especially love the indoor fort idea.

My perfect day included a mini shopping spree at my favorite art supply store, cuddling with my kids and hubby, wine, movie watching, dinner at a cool vegetarian restaurant, and a HUGE chocolate cake with piles of chocolate frosting.

I hope your Birthday is filled with all that you love!
